All
of them had a positive influence on the local industry but none as big as the
legendary Supreme O’ Lee. He is a product of the so-called golden cross
being by Supreme Sultan out of a Wing Commander mare, The Royal Princess. Originally registered as The Royal Sultan he was imported as
a yearling by the late Bill Sieberhagen and Danny Theron of Richmond in 1971.
Gielie Visser of Darling was his last owner.

So even though few Supreme Sultan imports got to
South Africa we definitely had one of the best in Supreme O’Lee. If one look
at the success of Supreme O’ Lee as a sire he especially had a huge influence
on our broodmare band. If one studies the above it is crystal clear that Supreme
O’ Lee’s second and third generation descendants were especially influential
in South Africa and now also back in the USA.
